This is a draft. I'm working on this idea actively.
There’s a kind of question that gets settled not by finding the right answer, but by becoming someone for whom the answer is obvious.
When that happens, you generally leave the conversation. That’s partly because the thing that convinced you wasn’t an argument you can hand to someone else, partly because it seems difficult to express. This essay is an attempt to go back and describe the process from the inside.
