A personal webpage with a cookie banner? Yes, indeed, it is not nice.

Knowing what people click on my corner of the web is nice, though. It can be motivating, for instance, like the moment you realise you have captured someone’s interest while you’re telling a story. For me this is especially motivating when I notice random people finding their ways into this corner of the web.

The ugly banner is required by the European Union, and there it is.

I’d much rather inhabit a nicer internet: One where a conflict between huge corporations and regulatory bodies wouldn’t cause such ugliness, and the concerns of millions of users would be addressed in more meaningful ways.

Until then, I recommend that you take care of your own privacy. Use Mozilla Firefox, install uBlock.
